[Closed] Any Dry Trails in Morzine?

Arrived in Morzine today - there's been so much rain in the past couple of weeks the trails down from Pleny were an absolute mud fest. Anyone know whether there are any drier trails to be found?

Not been out this season yet so can't be sure but the top of the Mossettes is rocky so should be ok in most directions. Basically higher is more rock and less mud.

Just got back from Morzine, there has been quite a bit of rain recently, so everywhere will be wet, there is no avoiding it. The steeper black trails are holding up better (except Pleney), but are very steep and would benefit from a mud specific tyre to have any chance of staying upright.

was out there a week ago, Pleney trails are by far the wettest. Les Gets ones not in the forest (chavanne area) are dryer, and the rockier trails like those under the Linderet chair are also better aswell as Mossettes. Zore trails seemed quick drying, Super Morzine black was a mess. The lower half of Chatel in the forest could be grim.

MatA, I've been here over a week now and it's been wet the whole time, giving up for a week or two and going to Garda tomorrow. If you're driving then welcome to join, drop me message here or look for the yellow van near the supermarket.

Les gets was fine yesterday though mont Chery was a mess. Was going to hit the pleney today but might give it a miss and head elsewhere

BoardinBob - avoid the two blue Pleney trails. They were so sticky I was stopping going downhill yesterday.

@Mat - buy an IGN map and have a good look over it, you can access them online at geoportal.gouv.fr - lots of good riding on the marked walking trails

IME the bike park trails stay wet/muddy for the longest as they have the most use so are most cut up.

The main black in the pleney is OK. Some sketchy bits but overall its good. Tried a blue and lasted 10 feet before I stopped and reversed out

MatA - if they still produce it, there is a mountain bike trail map of the area, available from the tourist office - it has blow up areas of the bike parks but also all the main VTT routes in the passport area marked red, blue, as well as paths etc. Not quite as detailed as the IGN `OS maps' but has contours, cols etc marked.

Here for the season, worst ever.
As the others state, avoid Pleney and stay out of the trees.
Open runs in Les Gets and over in Chatel are passable.
Basically you want to not come if you can avoid it.

Going to Chatel next week. Been loads of times so know exactly what to expect. Taking the road bike.

Head over to Swiss land for rockier less hammered trails. It all dries very fast if the sun decides to make an appearance.
