I currently have the shifter off the bars but absolutely no idea where to shove the new gear cable. Yes, seriously! The old cable wraps around a red plastic wheel but I just can't access or figure out how the cable end is held in place. Thanks
This started with simply changing tyres when I noticed a frayed cable.....

Ignore. I've done it. Phew. Although I may or may not need a new hood to replace a torn one

Haha, I remember getting completely foxed by this myself on my first road bike.
Mechanic at LBS had to show me.
