[Closed] Any 150mm KS LEV (DX) owners out there? Is back and forth play normal?

[#7889989]

As per title really, just bought this post in 30.9 and serviced on on the weekend. It's in great nick and works lovely but there is more back and forth movement than I had with my 125mm reverb. I'd say 3-5mm at full extension rocking it back and forth.

There's also a few mm's side to side which is about what my Reverb was.

With all the movement there is definite 'stops' where I can feel the bushes/keys making contact.

Anyone wish to share what theirs is like?

Cheers,

Based on my experience I can't remember significant back and forth play on my new DX fitted a couple of weeks ago. Agree on the side to side though. If I get a chance and remember I'll double check tomorrow.

That would be good if you could buddy. The guy I got it off serviced it (he works at a major KS dealer) and said the bushes and keys were perfect inside.

It just seems like a bit much play to me. I guess there could be quite a bit on a 150mm version.

Cheers

Ok just checked. Fully extended there is maybe a mm max front and back movement, not noticeable when riding

I've got two. Some movement, but not the extent you're describing. Certainly no huge difference to my old Reverb.

Thanks very much. He's asked for a video of it (which is fair enough) and if required he will service again with new bushes. Many thanks for posting.

No forward and back movement on mine (150 DX), only a little movement if twisted.
Now 18 months old.

BUT the bloody saddle clamp creaks like a really REALLY creaky thing, and always has done.

I found THIS while trying to sort it and have now changed the upper clamp to a hussefelt one, just not tried it yet.

Thought I'd mention it in case the movement you've described is coming from there instead of the internals?

Thanks for the info mate. Mines definitely the stanchion in the outer tube. The seal goes compressed to gappy while rocking it back and forth!

Clamp seems fine but I'll bear that in mind!

Cheers

Vid of the play here for those who are interested. I'm sure it's too much so the seller is going to do the bushes for me.

Cheers
