Old phone had Ant+ service built in, new one doesn't and thus I need to buy an adapter cable and USB dongle thingy, but I don't really want a little cable and dongle stuck in the phone...

I can't seem to find a neater direct plug in USB 'C' type adapter, such a thing must exist... Right?

It might be cheaper to buy a BT HRM...

Hmmm, it's hardly Svelte... And not USB-C.

Plus at £40 I might as well just find a BT HRM for less.

Cheers anyway...

Careful, they might get in.

My Sony phone has it built in,

Just buy a new phone, go on, treat yourself, it's a better solution.

Previous phone was an xperia Z2 and had Ant support, new one (two weeks) is an xperia X compact and doesn't appear to... It's probably because it is a 'lower' model but TBH I just wanted a more sensibly sized phone and a cheaper contract.

I will live without Ant+ on my phone, but I wish I had known before hand.

+1 - was an important feature for me which is why I got a Sony. Interesting to see they're dropping support - it does appear to be dying off a bit as a technology for some reason.

Is it that they've removed the hardware or simply not enabled it?

A quick Google suggests all newer 'X' series Sony phone lack ANT+... Shame.
