Bird Zero 29

My new Bird Zero 29 hardtail just arrived. It is pleasingly yellow. It is also very large, which is my fault, not its. This was taken after a very brief ride outside my flat to make sure it didn't explode or something, so there's probably a few tweaks that still need done. There wasn't much assembly work required though and it seems great so far!

Nice! A Big Bird coloured Bird. 🙂

How did the spangly new buttercuppy Pikes feel?

Umm, at this stage all I can say is that they feel like suspension forks! The fairly low kerbs on my street were not a huge workout for their capabilities. I was a bit put out to discover that Rock Shox have changed the tool you need to open up the air chamber to put volume spacers in so I couldn't do that.

You've let your bush grow I see.

Yellow is an ace bike colour.

Unruly bush with weeds poking out the bottom.

Happy NBD.

I do need to have a go at trimming my bush, I've been away just in time for it to start growing again after not doing much over the colder months.

Yellow is a rather good colour for a bike, in an ideal world I'd have gone for an orange one but I couldn't find a bike that ticked all the boxes as well as being orange so I settled for yellow.

(This is not an encouragement for you all to go find orange bikes I might like, I don't want any buyer's remorse!)

Awesome! Thank heavens gnarly hardtails are still flying the flag for brightly coloured frames.

Ah, is that what it is? I should have one of those somewhere.

My other Pikes are from 2016/2017 and they both need a big socket to get to the tokens.

Yeah it should be the cassette tool. Not sure when they switched from the socket but the Domains I worked on the other day used the newer style and I think my 2020 Lyriks are the same

My 2021 Pikes are cassette tool. My son's 2023 Zebs are 24mm spanner. Gotta love standards.

Yellow is definitely the colour for NBD at the moment. Nice. Bird was on my list also.

Nice. HT FTW!
You need to pick all the white stones out of your driveway though it’s unsightly.

Weird, the trendy colourways this year seem mostly to be muted and a bit dull, IMO. Obviously the fine folks here have better taste than the average. 🙂

I'm afraid you're going to have to direct your complaints to Edinburgh council, that's a a public pavement!

My hedge appears to be a popular alternative bin for some of the people who pass by it.

Nah, I'm a bit of an imposter with my yellow Cotic - my other bikes are either raw or anodised, no paint in sight 🙂

I do light a bright-coloured bike though. I've had a 'custard' Soul, a radioactive green 26er BFe, a bright yellow Tallboy 3, and now the yellow BFe.
