Well anyway, quite sad, end of an era and all that. Had the frame since 1995 I think, it was featured in Cycling Weekly and recently built up as an almost daily used singlespeed for taking my dog out.
But today, the dog lead came in for a secondary usage.
Get me home fix number 267a:

Here in its prime, shortly before I bought it from Rock n Road.

Bye bye Principia ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

On a serious note I'd fix that with CF and ride it.

CF? Captain Flasheart?

I did ride it about 2 miles home. Felt similar to my 575.

http://www.principiabikes.co.uk/sites/english/road_evolution.html

I would mail customer services at the website above department asking for a replacement frame under wwarranty. It's obviously a design fault and I expect it's already happened to several people on STW ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

My mate's broke in the same place, but that was in 1993 and they redesigned them after that. Gussets an that.
Still stupid paper thin downtube. I'll contact them and let you know if I get any joy
