Hi all,

Sorry, another insurance question!

I would like to insure a couple bikes (total value about £1k) when stored at home (locked in secure carpark), or out and about (locked to immovable object). I'd also like cover if I damage anyone else/their property, damage myself, or damage my bike. Cover for sportives and races would be great.

If possible, I would also like to cover a few specific items - laptop, camera, phone, from accidental damage, theft etc.

I live in London if that makes any difference!

Any suggestions? Ideally from people who have had to make claims in the past.

Thanks,
Duane.

Looks like if I get British Cycling "Ride" membership for £37 a year (plus London discount), I get half decent liability insurance. Mentions a discount of bike insurance, but can't get a quote until you become a member...

BC membership can be worth it for the liability, legal and CRC/Halfords discount, but IMO if you’re looking for bike insurance, possibly elsewhere. Assuming you’ve discounted rolling them in with possessions Insurance, check BikeMo+? The numbers can start looking scary with 10k+ of bikes to cover, but two bikes around £500 each shouldn’t be too upsetting. They’re good on valuations and payouts by reputation...
