Made the leap, on an oval 1x10 setup now. Just been for first ride. All is fine.

I can already tell I'll need a granny ring for long rides. I'm going to get the Hope T-Rex 40T.

Will my current Sram X9 2.0 10Spd medium cage derailleur work with a 40t cog or will I need to go to a long cage?

Any help from the bike fettlers will be appreciated.

Sram 10s mechs tend to cope better than Shimano in general with the bigger expanders, so 40t should be no issue.
