Wrestled to fit an MSC Gripper for the rear wheel of my Switch9er today. DH casing made it really difficult to get it to seat with the valve in between the sidewalls.

Then i finally got the tyre and it’s comically too big for the clearance. How can 2.4 inches be so different between brands!!!!

So it has to come off again. Bit now it’s welded on like a bastard. 15 mins of struggling to get one bead free. Now the other side is just as bad.

Venting here with a strong Red IPA cos my wife just doesn’t understand.

Perfect time to explain to her that you need a new bike.

I'm always worried about buying new tyres, whether they'll fit my frame and forks (more road and gravel).

Had to sell on (or gifted to pals) tyres in the past that were a touch too big.

On some tyres, it's not the actual width, but the depth of the tyre which causes it to rub. Not a metric easily found when tyre shopping.

Maybe there should be a tyre swap shop. 🤔

Both great ideas!

… both not going to happen.

Fortunately the Gripper should make a decent front tyre so I guess I’ll save it for that.
