Get stoned and then seek out some excellent restaurants to satiate your munchies.
And then go to an absynthe bar.
Short'sh canal/boat trips are alright,if you see New Years traditional ollybollen cake ( normal cake) buy it and eat it, 9 streets is a good hang,vondelpark is a pleasant hang.

Go the Rijksmuseum and spend an hour staring slack jawed at The Night Watch.
Eat something.

Go to the Van Gogh museum.
Sit at the corner table near the bar in the original Bulldog and try and guess how long the punters will last in little glass booths across the road.
Two blocks toward town, just past the new Bulldog Hotel, on the right is a little shop that sells truffles.
Don't go to the Resistance Museum or Anne Frank's house AFTER you've eaten the truffles.
Try the Sex Museum instead, then have a wander through the less touristy bits, some nice trad pubs and pleasant walks just outside the centre.

Well for me the rld was one of the most miserable places there, full of pissed up or stoned idiots pointing and the women, mostly just felt a very wrong. Plenty of other really cool stuff, spent half a day just riding around on a bike and exploring. Some great beer bars and food places etc.
Agreed, it was full of groups of lads absolutely leathered. Totally different vibe to the place I'm staying, Jordaan. Toured the city by bike which was nice and nuts at the same time.
If you still have the time escape to Den Haag (The Hague) for a more interesting afternoon. If you still want to get baked try Cremers which is rare in that it's an outlet with a bar next door where you can order a beer as you smoke your bifta. Don't forget your ID.
