I was thinking maybe it seems odd to locals up there that it's a "big deal" for the likes of me to ride there, but to have such a concentration of trails like that and that quality, with a welcoming town on the door step, it's well with the trip.

Rivington - there's the chute off the back of the masts I guess, the old DH trails in the woods (K2?) are kinda steep, but everything is relatively short. I'm gonna go next week and fly down it all! 🤣🤣🤓

While we're on the subject of the Golfie and the Tweed Valley, rather than starting a new thread can I ask about accommodation?

If I wanted a spontaneous trip for 1 or 2 nights for just myself with parking and safe bike storage where should I go?

All the stuff I've seen with a quick search are cottages and similar for hundreds of quid. It's a bit overkill when I'd settle for a mattress on the floor anywhere that my bike won't get nicked.

That Wolferine trial up in that video is pretty crazy. I tried it back in May when I was there. Most of it was way beyond me, properly steep, rough, and tight.

@sharkattack I stayed at tweedside campsite, right in innerleithen. I was in a van but they do have some camping pods.

There's some dodgy reviews online, but the site was fine, facilities were clean and big enough.  Ran out of loo roll and hand soap though so take your own! It was pretty quiet whilst I was there, and weather kept people inside, bit like any campsite I suspect it could be noisy when busy and sunny.

I locked my bike to my van, don't know if they have storage.

Just realised I've stayed at the AirBNB Jack Moir was at in the video up there 😀

(Really REALLY dark inside, wasn't great for £140/night or thereabouts)

Yeah, the videos don't do it justice at all. It's steep, rocky, scary stuff in places. You have to know whats coming and ride it fast I think - two things that we didn't know/do...

Haha, just seen that I'm in that video up above! Not one of the riders unfortunately, but sat on the side of me van watching them set off at about 4:40 seconds 🤭

I saw them coming down the end of lone wolf after I'd minced my way down.

Edit - actually I'm getting my trailforks info confused, that's the one I came down! Haha, bonkers to see them skip over some of that stuff, there's one rock garden feature in particular is practically vertical but it looked nothing in that vid. Glad to hear them day is one of the hardest ones when they get to the bottom! 🤣🤣

That’s where we always stay, been several times and never had a problem.

It’s a funny thing that New York, New York was built to be really tight and slow (apart from the middle bit)…and hopefully unpopular (builder wanted to keep it for himself)!

Task failed succesfully mate

We've stayed at the Traquir pub in Inners more than once. Warm welcome, great breakfast and bike storage. The little craft beer pub next door is great too.

We've also enjoyed a peaceful night in the van in the car park at the bottom of Inners trails too.
