[#6079603]

Just fitted a new 9-speed chain and SLX rear mech to the girlfriend's bike, but the chain is hitting the rear mech on the smallest sprocket at the rear. There seems to be a lot more of overhang compared to the LX it's replacing and the small bolt protruding near the small sprocket is the problem.

It's a SLX M662 Shadow 9 Speed Rear Mech and HG93 9 Speed Chain.

So what have I done wrong!!!?

Ignore me. I am being a massive numpty - the mech wasn't sat against the mech hanger properly.

Could use a clean, and your rug is slightly wonky. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ha ha - don't worry about it - I did exactly the same thing last week with my own bike. Couldn't figure out why the mech body was suddenly interfering with the chain until I realised the funny lug thing wasn't behind the hanger at all, let alone against it(!)
