Anybody do it last year?

Was it a good challenging route, or i better just spending the £25 entry fee on pies and doing the routes i already know near Ambleside?

I did it last year, was a very tough 2 lapper, about 50% of the field jacked after the first lap, takes in quite a lot lots of good stuff you would never know existed.

I was 3rd SS, and wont be doing it on that bike again....Lost 15-20 mins witht the worst cramp ive ever had, 😥 finished 97th int end. They have supposedly shortened it. Last year it was "approx" 30 miles......it was acually 36 👿

Going gears this year

Did it last year and thought it was fun-entered for this year as well.
Hope they don't shorten it too much though

It was`nt too bad til half way round the 2nd lap. SSn you are either rolling it uphill or screeming downhill and there are alot of those in Whinlatter. The only bits it was really good on were the singletrack Altura sections.

I'm in, I anticipate some long fire road climbs to string the field out for the singletrack sections. Last year bits were ridden in reverse, so it's not just loops of the existing trails. Blue run is new since last year too, so maybe will be incorporated into the course.
