Just bumping this back up the list - I'd be interested to know also!

Guy kesteven is testing one at the mo.

just over 3lbs / 17", 3.45 / 19".

I've ridden one but my opinion may be considered biased! It's light but stiff for ti, ie works on more technical terrain than a slimmer, xc-race or old-school ti bike, best with 120mm forks, ideal light trail bike. Any q's let me know.

(edited, god my typing's bad today!)

sodandy,

Got one... great bike.. rode a superfly before this so the transition was very strange from an all out race machine to a bike designed for all day riding.

Think definately the best all round bike i have ridden... i plan to make a few changes over spec but this would be personal taste in that i would like some flat bars and slightly longer stem.

Ridden this bike all over the country but i can say that it excels when the descents get very technical.. the stiff fork/wheel combo track straight so its a point and shoot affair and the geometry encourages you to ride in a laid back flowing manor popping off anything you can find.. then when you reach the bottom the ti frame means that there isn't a great deal of bike weight to get back up top again:)

where you based?? if anywhere near the peaks or manchester give me a shout and you can gladly have a test ride

James-o,
Thats what i was hoing you would say. My Soda is lovely but i do find it a little flexy at times. Do you think the Altitude would make a decent long forked marathon race bike?

Paul78 - It does sound similar to my Soda but stiffer. Love the geometry and the way my Soda rides but like i said before it can be a little flexy at times. Thabks for the offer of a test ride as well - if i am in the area soon i will give you a shout.
Altitude may be worth a look me thinks.....

sodandy, you're name makes more sense now! 🙂

That's exactly what it's for, long days out on the trails - if i did a Merida 100k next weekend it's what i'd take. Ridden enduro's on my Altitude 853 quite happily but the lower weight and increased comfort would be ideal - it's less stiff overall than our 853 frame but certainly tracks better over rocks than a slimmer ti frames (like our original prototype that felt great on local singletracks but vauge in Wales / Peak dist)
