I run a combination of Maxxis shorty front and Spesh purgatory rear. The Spesh seems to leak sealant slowly but consistently. What's a suitable alternative? I really like the tyre, fast and quite grippy in all conditions

Exactly the combo that I run on my Aeris. Sidewalls on my Purg are getting a bit porous too.

I think I'm going for a 2.4 Ardent to replace it. I have a Slaughter Grid that I used to run, but wasn't keen on the lack of grip on anything but bone-dry ground.

If you are happy with the performance of the Purg then just replace it with a Purg Grid. Much tougher sidewalls and no leaking sealant.

Quick look says ardent 2.4 deeper tread than the narrower one. Rolls spot on and the train went up first go and hasn't weapt any sealant
