It seems like the vast majority of people use either Rockshox or Fox forks. Are there any other viable alternatives?
I (and I think many others) are a bit apprehensive about Marzocchi due to the stories of failing forks. I don't know much about Magura, I think they look cool but my impression is of forks that are a bit more of a pain to set up right.
I perceive Rockshox to be the best value forks around, am I right? I am on the lookout for something that can be adjusted from 100-130mm, standard QR, and there don't seem to be too many options.
Magura have received resonable reviews and the new crop of Marzocchi's have undergone some massive changes with reliability their new watch word - so might be worth taking another look at them?
I've got a set of Marzocchi MX Comps that have been abused for years without complaint!
Your final option would be DT Swiss (the "old" Pace forks):

'Final option'?
What about Manitou? (now Hayes owned)
