[#5394297]

Having spent the last week frantically moving & decorating, i'm keen to discover what alternative uses of biking equipment STWers employ following my applications below:-

Knee pads - for protection during a 4 hour skirting board sanding mission

Helmet light - for rooting around in the attic (the helmet protected my head from the multiple clashes with low hanging beams!)

Bike Stand - to hang a chandelier off for storage and transport

You have chandeliers but sand your own skirting boards? Must be a northern thing 🙂

Crank brother's pedals make good bottle openers so does my old heckler hanger.

Looping inner tubes together to form a flexible tie for a bed on a car roof rack when we ran out of rope.

My pants are dried exclusively on bikes. It's a matter of pride.

Once decorated a mates when we were in a student house together instead of a xmas tree!!.

Old piece of inner tube was given to my nan to help her open jars.

"Gas Pipe"?! This must be a dig at someone's Steel Is Real bike?

It's possible I might have smoked out of a pair of handlebars.

Actually, a mate of mine used an inner tube as a make shift bandage after his pal of his put a 6" gash in his arm in a crash - but that's bike related, so has no rights to be in this thread!

I turned my girvin flexstem into a video camera mount for the motorbike- it goes into the crash bung and then the quill keeps it in place. Damn sight better at being a camera mount than it ever was at being a stem.

I haven't been on a bike in 2.5 years so have the most expensive washing line ever in the garage.

I want to make some coat hangers from old rims after seeing a carbon one on here the other day - oh and wondering how I could turn cranks into door handles...
