I'm off to alp d huez in a few weeks and we are staying at allamond and I'm wondering what if any connecting trails there are between allamond and alp d huez, such as similar to morzine where you can easily go betweenmmorzine and les gets. I assume I'll have to drive up to the cable car station above allamond

You'd not ride up the trails as they're very steep & the road must be 5 or 6 miles of switchbacks - it was also 36C in Allmond.
This stops at the car park at the base of the dam in Allamond & takes you up to Oz Station where you get the Poutran cablecar up to DMC, then you ride down to AdH - its free if you have a lift pass but we weren't checked last year at all.

Last years timetable but when any of the Mega was on the buses were every 20 minutes

Cool, i wouldn't dream of riding up anything in the alps as I never do it in the uk
riding down you can take the bottom part of the mega from adh or there is a linking trail from the oz lift station that brings you out on the bottom of the mega route again
the coach up to oz runs pretty smoothly
