Jumped on the ferry over to Arran yesterday, with nothing concrete planned, possibly a wee pass storm over the saddle from Glen Sannox to Glen Rosa, but the white tops put paid to that. Next month perhaps. Robin was keen to ride the north end of the Arran ened to end we'd done a couple of years ago (the trail was in MBR a couple of months back, Andy McAndlish IIRC).

Starts off with almost 15 miles on Tarmac up and over the Boguillie, that gets the legs going. Then once back at sea level, turn north and climb back up on a steep rocky path, which is not like much else in the area, very lakes-like.

Returning along the shore path

Both of us were in agreement that we need to try this in the opposite direction, as the bedrock path on the Lochranza side would be a cracker of a descent. Then back to Brodick we went for ice cream and a cold beer. Arran is a cracking place to bike, there are some great rides on the MTB club website, but there are also so many more places to explore, all of it steep!. Hopefully my riding buddy will be along soon with more pics.

Greg.
