[#7929720]

Considering a new wheelset, probably laced to DT240s. Previously I've always used Stan's, predominantly Flows. Wide is better (but not plus size) and strength is important as I've destroyed a set of Crests and easily dinged Arches.

I note the Mk3 Flow is almost 30mm wide internally & lighter than the Flow Ex. Is there anything else I should consider? Not interested in Carbon.

WTB i35s would be my choice on alloy.

DT Swiss EX471 or XM481? 25 and 30mm internal.

DT XM481's here as well. Very tough not too heavy and give your tyres a much wider profile. Set up tubeless Im running them at 18-20psi and the grip is brilliant.

EX471s, tougher than the new flows and the same weight. Had a set of arches and they will be replaced with xm401s.

If you've destroyed crests and dinged arches easily no reason to think flows would last for you - they suffer the same softness (or at least the older gen did).

As above I would go XM481 or if 27.5 maybe the new EX511s.

I've run Flow Ex pretty much since they came out (2/3 years?) and haven't damaged any rims yet.

Thanks for recommendations all. Will look at the DT Swiss options. I note that Moonglu have switched to using these over Stans which was one of my reasons for starting this thread.

I'd check out WTB and DT for sure. I've not used the very latest stans but the previous gens- the Ex and the like- have been really left behind
