I've got an old bike with an "Allington's, Bicester" sticker on it. The bike's from 1987 and going strong, the shop's long gone. Every now and then I wonder about the shop and Mr(?) Allington, and now is one of those times.

Anyone on here with any memories of it, him, them?

I've got some mates who grew up in Bicester in the 80s, I'll ask when I speak to them next week

Thanks guys,

"Broadribb Cycles was established in 1919 and has a huge range of brands."

Luke Allington is cytech mechanic and manager. I'll drop them a line!

Be interested if you hear anything, cheersdrive.

My Allingtons sticker says Sheep Street, Broadribb have another store there with the same phone number as on my sticker, so it looks like Allingtons sold to Broadribb and maybe family stayed on as staff, maybe just coincidence on the name.

That's back to front. Allington's wasn't Allington's for long. They bought Broadribb in Oxford and kept the Broadribb name across both stores. Allingtons still own/run both.

The shop i used to work at in Newport (leisure lakes) was previously also a broadribb branch, however the guy running it for them started his own shop near by and I believe it wasn't the most amicable of splits, so the shop was sold to leisure lakes.
