Folks,
Am looking to buy a new road wheel set.

Any suggestions for up to £300/350. Ideally I want them to be:
- general road training
- strong enough for 'light touring'
- not too heavy

I know this may be asking a lot. I seem to recall someone being quoted on wheels as saying something like,
"Weight, Strength or Cost. Pick any two, but you can't have all three" (was it Mr Bontrager ?????).

Anyway, suggestions please (and sorry for the roadie content !!)

Thanks

Like mtb wheels, most road wheels are round.

Where are you seeing these non-round wheels?

On a serious note, open pros on 105s?

+1 for Open Pros, 32H sounds ideal for you, mine have been brilliant.

For all-round, I'd go with CXP33 rather than Open Pro#. Hubs to suit budget. Builds a stiffer wheel that is (ahem) allegedly a little more aero for 100g more.

You didn't define heavy, but 1750g is reasonable.

#I have wheels with both. Not a lot in it.

I'm looking at 719s on DT 350s for my CX bike. Still deciding on 28 or 32 hole.

I have just ordered some Mavic Open Pros on Ultegra hubs with DT Swiss spokes for less than £350.
