[#379136]

Hi,
Cables were getting a bit sticky etc so decided to replace them.
Moved shifter to '1' ... removed old cable ... measured out and fitted new cable yadda yadda yadda.

Now, with the new cable fitted the shifter is stuck on '8', and won't budge from there using either direction.

Removing cable / messing around with cable doesn't help.

Is my shifter hosed?

does the bit at the back move under the tension without the cable?
if not have the selector off at the hub and clean the faces up.
otherwise are you sure you have the cable trough the lever properly on the shifter?

are the marks lined up in fourth?

Hi,
The problem was with the shifter, and not the hub itself.

I fixed the issue by dismantling the shifter, and adding in a 1mm thick metal washer. As it turns out, for whatever reason the top of the shifter was applying too much pressure on the mechanism inside for it to move back down the gears (spring direction).

Sweet. Well chuffed I don't need to buy a new shifter.
