Anyone used an alarmed bike lock that they can recommend? Just prepping for summer camping trip and trying to work out bike security, have got good pragmasis chain and D lock but was wondering if the addition of an alarmed lock might be useful, it doesn't actually have to be any good as a lock but since the bikes will always be locked within 5 feet of where we sleep I figured an alarm may be useful to alert us if any scumbags start fiddling.

Alarmed motorcycle disc lock through the chainring. Will make noise if moved, and stops riding away too.

Though presumably a disc lock would be no good if they choose to lift rather than ride the bike away?

As simon says.

It kicks off if it gets moved AND prevents cycling away.

Just leave it so it definitely can't fall over unless you want to be the least popular man on campsite.

I have the Abus one reviewed in the mag recently. Not cheap but you could lock a 2 bikes together and you would definitely wake if someone moved the bikes.

I'd stick an alarm padlock on your existing chain. One like https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BYIOAWA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_a0K.CbVWT4FP C">This one.....
They provide loud warning bleep when the padlock is moved and go off properly if broken or repeatedly disturbed. Obviously use it with a propper padlock as well.
