Had my airbike for a couple of years now and the battery pack/connection is playing up. It all seems to be sealed up. Can i order something off dealextreme with the same connector? or speak to troutie?
Don't really want to splash out on a new light if i can get this working properly
Hi Tricky,
Email Troutie and if he cant help you you could allways post the light, battery and charger to me and I will see what I can do.
Smudge
I think the battery is a different voltage than the magic shine ones?
I'm sure I remember reading it being 3x 18050 in parallel which would make it about 3.5V. so you couldn't just get one of those and change the connections.
I've not seen replacement batteries anywhere recently. It would be easy enough to make a replacement battery or get someone like smudge to knock you up a new one. You could either reuse the old connectors or change them all and put new ones on. Not too hard.
A bit of googling may find you a battery at the correct voltage. You can open up the cases, the lid is at the wire end and it looks like you could gently ease it off. I assume it's glued. You could then solder in 3 new batteries and carry on. Maybe.
Worth bearing in mind - I recently got the new improved magicshine for £60 and it is more than a match for my Airbike SL1 so it's not worth spending a fortune on a new battery.
Funny, mine stopped working a few weeks ago too.
Battery appears to charge fine still, but no light at all.
That what's going on with yours?
