[#2183853]

in milton keynes more and more ''posh'' (ooow, get him) houses are having air con fitted ?,

those huge ugly mitsubishi units look more than a little out of place on the back of a UK
house,

what is the benefit ?, does any one on here have air con in their UK house or flat ?

there only ever seems to be a single unit, does this mean only a single room is ''conditioned'' ?

seems a little odd to me or are they just another sad willy wave ?

have i missed a massive climatic change?

not thinking of applying to join the club, just curious as to why in a country that was once described by Tasitus as ''in the grip of a perpetual winter''
( doesn't seem to improved much in the last 2000 yrs)
one would require a gadget which is only usually seen hanging off the side of a cheap european restaurant.

The air con units you see are probably heat pumps that have cooling and heating functions. Some houses in MK i.e. the new builds around Oxley park and the west of the city may have Ecodan systems which can supply hot water and either underfloor heating or heating to rads....by the way i live in Wolverton and we dont have AC ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes these will be heat pumps. They will be hooked up to a more or less traditional heating system such radiators or underfloor heating (for which they are better suited).

They work like fridges in reverse...

You will see a lot more of them as they are perceived as being a low carbon solution (despite running on electricity).
