Looking for a fairly basic (cheap...) air compressor for the shed. I have power in the shed so cordless not needed. Want it for putting on tubeless tyres, lazy pumping and maybe a bit of light cleaning duties...
What do you use? Where did you get it? How much did it cost? Would you recommend it?
i got a Stanley 8 bar jobbie from screwfix.... tubeless tyres are no match for it!!!
I have a 50 litre compressor, think it’s sip. I was given it by my local car garage as it had noisy main bearings and he had bought a new one, i havent changed the bearings and its still going strong (and rattly) for the last five or six years.
Ive plugged it in through a timer so I just leave it on knowing it’ll only kick in between 9 and 6 when the air gets low
The most expensive one you can justify.
Within days/weeks/months you will be absent mindedly googling huge 3 phase motors, oil free compressors, tanks you could play hide and seek in, shot blasting guns, spray booths, oil separators, etc etc etc.
I dont know anyone's who's bought one and been completely happy!
TBH a decent sized tank and then the compressor/motor is basicly limited by the electrical power. For home use you're never likely going to wear one out.
One thing to consider is footprint. I went for an upright tank to save space.

My little Aldi one gets tyres up fine £50.

I have two of the Aldi ones, both bought in their sales, one mounted on the garage wall and one in the camper for when we are at races.
They are noisy but no more than a compressor when flying the tank.
It will easily do what you want it to do. It won't spray a car or run air tools.

They came with the tools needed for popping on tyres
A used Jun Air from ebay, the disposable rebranded chinese junk ones all have a crap duty rating on them. The Jun Air will be quieter and rebuildable.
Ive got an SGS 50 litre one, came with air tool kit and lots of accessories for £300
