Right. What is going on here?
Trying to fit a pair of WTB Prowler 29er tyres. Traditional tubed setup, Mavic TN719 rims. Tyres are very floppy- hard to get in the bead all the way round as they keep coming out, but eventually get them on.
Then I go to inflate, and after a few strokes with the track pump, they pop off the rim...
Any ideas?
I spent an hour trying to get them on yesterday, and eventually gave up!
Cheers!

😮
I'd be looking at the rim?
I've got some Prowlers and have fitted them with no problems at all (to Bonty and Halo rims if i recall). Quite a nice tyre too although they were only used for a short period before the trails got too muddy. Will try them again soon hopefully.
Looked at the rim a lot- can't see anything odd or different about it...
Any ideas from the evening crowd?
I've never had a problem fitting tyres like this before...
Lay your wheel flat? Pump up slow whilst flat?
get as much air in as possible, then working round the wheel bash the tyre with the palm of your hand into the rim. Add more air and repeat.
