Anyone use them? Quite like the idea of music on a ride, but very much dislike the idea of not hearing traffic, etc.

I use them (before lock down) for a commute to listen to spoken radio and podcasts. They're great for this and you can hear around you (this was across Central London).
You can listen to music on them, but it doesn't anywhere near good.

They can buzz against your skin with the volume up to max, and of course you can't hear what they're playing if environmental sound is loud.

Use them regularly. Easy to hear traffic and they really help when training. Can still hold a conversation if riding side by side. High speeds need full volume due to wind noise.
Definitely a good option IMO

Not the first time the topic's come up:

(My answer on there: they're fine, just don't expect the same audio quality as you'd get with in-ear headphones).

Yeah, was expecting a mix of music, traffic and wind noise, but that's kind of what I want

Have a pair of Aeropex for running as they are waterproof to a point. Much much prefer the sound of the Bose SoundSport wireless but they are not waterproof so heavy rain kills them, after 3 pairs of Bose I gave up and got the Aeropex.

Nothing much to say about the Aeropex other than the sound is not great for music, no bass and complex music turns to mush. Because you can hear the outside world you have to turn them up loud which upsets the Apple volume nanny on the iPhone. Every hour the volume is automatically turned down to protect your hearing, you can just turn it up again but it’s annoying (very first world problem).

One other plus for them, they support Aptx bluetooth which from what I can see most headphones don't. Not an issue for music or podcasts but if watching TV and listening through bluetooth headphones the faster Aptx bluetooth standard means voice lip synch not an issue. Good for when watching TV \ netflix etc when on the Turbo trainer.

Don’t use them out on the bike but use on Zwift found them to be okay no real experience apart from that, When biking off road use my apple buds inside full face skid lid.

What Dr P said.
I have a gravel route near me which is just plain boring. I have my favourite radio show that I have to catch up on . Aftershocks give me the opportunity to listen to the show and make the boring ride pleasant.
The biggest plus is that even watching bike videos with earphones sets my ears ringing. 2 hours with aftershocks and my ears don’t hurt at all.
I think they are brilliant.
