i managed to fit a tubus fly to a swift a few years ago.
made a u clamp out of flat alloy strip with a hole in each side. worked a treat.

Tubus are great and I think are worth the premium. Especially when bought from a German website Bike24 etc.
I would fancy a stainless one next time if I wasn't on a Salsa.
