Do. It.

Really. Lovely route despite the potentially frustrating bit round Camban.

Great write up , looking forward to pt 3.
The Abriachan cafe is err, interesting .
Was there in the snow in February and had hot chocolate sat outside with mine host.
Definitely a memorable experience!

I did the Highland Cross last year. Lots of familiar paths there. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think it might be even better if you go round Beinn Fhada and over Bealach an Sgairne.

The previous blog entry tries to explain the hiatus (it's a bit introspective but it was useful to write it down)

Enjoyed the write up and was particularlly interested as I'd just booked the Alltbeithe Youth Hostel for a trip in August. Planning to ride from Cannich with my wife and son... overnight at the hostel and back out the same way the next day. Sounds like I picked the right bit of the trail to do ๐Ÿ™‚

bugeye - if you don't mind a bit extra singletrack and maybe wet feet then a return along the north shore of Loch Affric can be recommended.

Cheers... will give it a go. Also planning on your Ullapool to Bonar Bridge route, just one way though. Probably solo on that as I think it might be a bit far for my wife and son.

Paul Murton is in it though, he really ruins these programmes for me.

I don't known colin -- she was one of a bunch of female pairs.. had a good time apparently, despite some challenging navigation conditions..

That subterranean arch is probably part of the hydro schemes. Maybe access to the tunnel taking water from Loch Beinn a' Mheadhoin to Fasnakyle power station. I spotted a similar thing in Strathfarrar recently. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4955765

I'm planning on having a go at the Affric Kintail Way sometime. Not sure whether to run/walk it or on bike. And which direction - from west to east would be easier for getting a train or bus to the start.

Nice one. I can confirm that climbing out of Glen Lichd going east is a proper job of work.
