Hi,
Me and a pal are heading up to do some variation of the affric-kintail way (east->west) on bikes next week. Just looking at the route down into morvich at the end - the "official" affric-kintail way route goes to the south of beinn fhada from camban through glen lichd, but looking at what is recommended for the beinn fhada circuit, most people seem to advocate ascending that and descending via the glen to the north of beinn fhada. We'll only have time (and energy) to do one descent so which should we do? North or south?
Answers in rhyming couplets will be given greater credence.
Ta
Don't be uncouth,
By riding the south.
It's be be worth,
Riding the north.
If there's been much rain,
The North may be in vain.
Although,to be fair,
I'd like to be there.
I've never been there,
so don't really know
so just flip a coin
to decide where to go
No competition descend the north end through the Bealach na Sgairne. (IMO)
McTrail Rider's been
Anti-clockwise it seems
I've been to the bothy
sat and drank coffee
Morvich's a bet
but not if it's wet
North then it is
or you'll end up in a tiz
Ad nauseaum :o)
PS, there's aircraft wreckage worth a look not far past the Youth Hostel.
Agree with the above.
everyone seems to agree
with rare unanamity
when going east-west
the north is the best
so thanks! - that's the route for my pal and me
