have been riding cwmcarn solo at night for two years and always spot some other hardy souls. reassuring to know someone will find your still warm body after a mishap/boogey man encounter. started solo night rides at afan about five weeks ago and have never encountered anyone or spotted any cars in the afan visitor's centre car park (not even doggers). does anyone ride afan at night?
I used to quite regularly upto a couple of years ago. One year I clocked more miles/hours at night than I did in daylight! Also went out with the boys in the shop when they did shop night rides. You could always ask to see if you could tag along. They are a friendly bunch. I must restart my night riding.
so it's true, I am the only idiot night riding at afan ? if there is still a shop ride, does anyone no which night and at what time?
I've ended up being the last to leave the car park a few times recently, there doesn't seem to be anyone there once the sun sets!

A quick reminder that the new Penhydd and Blue Scar trails will be opening this weekend.
I have been riding the trails all week and they have been getting better daily with some tweaks here and there which have vastly improved them.
If you can't ride this weekend, then why not join us on our first night ride on 4th December.
If you are coming and need to hire lights, please let us know asap as we have a limited supply.

Go see Ben at Afan Valley Bike Shed
Rode the Wall starting at 5.30 tonight, saw a couple of others out and the Pontrhydyfen car park was full of vans and cars with racks on our return, never seen so many actually so in answer to your question it's a 'yes', Afan is ridden after dark..at least on Thursdays!
