[#4862115]

Thinking of heading over to Afan for the day on Fri.

Haven't been for years so was wondering what sort of state the trails are in at the moment and if I should be running mud tyres or if Conti Mountain Kings will do the job.

Still a lot of puddles, and washed back to bedrock in places, but still rideable.

Rougher than you'll remember but still drains fairly well. White's better than Wall but all good.

went there the Sunday before last (3rd Feb). It was raining and lots of water on the trails but they were still very rideable; much more so than the surrey hills

Take some money and a change of clothes for the shower afterwards

Pretty good. I was over there twice at Christmas. They've built some new sections to cut out fire road. One small section had completely turned to mush when I was there. All the old stuff has held up well. A few braking bumps are the only real complaint.
