[#2863345]

I'm intending to have a go at changing the coil in my 2008 / 2009 Fox 36 Van Rs. I've got the instruction manual and having read it, I'm a little suspicious of how easy it suggests it is to do.

I'm wondering if anyone on here has changed the coil themselves, and if so, if you've got tips that will allow me to avoid making any major mistakes, I'm hoping to be able to go out for a ride tomorrow.

Of course, by all means confirm that it is as easy as the manual suggests, and that I'm worried about nothing ๐Ÿ˜‰

Honestly, it is as easy as the manual suggests. Hardest part is finding a 6point low profile socket instead of the 18point chamfered sockets that you get everywhere.

Proper tool shop should have 6 sided sockets, I machine mine flat too to get maximum surface area on the low profile flats on the top caps.

As for changing the spring it is that easy, pop a bit of grease on it too to stop it making tto much noise rubbing on the inside of the fork and put topcap on minimum preload and be careful screwing the top cap back in so not to cross thread it.
