Hi all, i am currently riding a Coyote Colorado XT and have just started my first year of races. I've already done the first of the Brownbacks Series and the Classic Weekender and am really enjoying it.

I do however seem to be struggling with tyres (lack of grip / washing out). I've been running them at 50 PSI to stop pinch flats up at Lee Quarry, but a friend of mine thinks that it could also be due to the fact that the Tioga Factory Extreme tyres are a bit cr@p. He has suggested that at £20 for Schwalbe Nobby NIC here could help matters.

What tyres would you recommend? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

gg

Nobby nics are nice, along with most of the Schwalbe tyres. It really depends if you want them just for racing or for general riding as well. Something like a Maxxis Advantage or Ignitor is a nice all round tyre.

Take 10 psi out of your current tyres and have a ride before you splash out on new tyres. 50 psi is rather high..

+1 for vdubber, take some air out so your tyres have a bit of bounce about them.. they'll be solid just now.
