I read with great interest the comments and reviews presently circulating about "Uppy-Downy" seatposts (Including MBR's top score for a R/S Reverb).
However my bike has a 30.0mm seatpost (Cove Stiffee).
What are my options?
Are Rockshox planning to produce other diameters (my info at present is taken from CRCs website).
Any wisdom out there?
30.0 bit of a non-standard size. Joplins only 30.9 and 31.6 I believe, i reckon your best/only bet will be to buy a smaller one (pure racing KS900 and gravity dropper do a 27.2) and get a shim. do RS say on their website what sizes are coming out (can they squeeze their tech into a 27.2?).
30mm, not seen that before. Most manufacturers seem to be sticking to the most popular size's 30.9mm & 31.6mm, there are a few for the 27.2mm like KSi7. As far as I can tell your best bet will be to get a KS i7 27.2mm and add a shim and see how you go. I understand a fair few standard seatposts use this format so can't see why you couldn't do it for an 'uppy downy' too. Saying that it would be an expensive mistake if it didn't work. Perhaps contact supplier/distributer directly and ask the question.
FWIW I ride with a KS i9000r and absolutely love it to bits. Needs regular love but they really transform your ride if you like a low seatpost on descents
hmmmmmmmm
i am the same and i have a 30.00 seatpost diameter. i currently run a gravity dropper with a seatpost shim. works a treat
i read in the mbuk mag that the rs reverb is planning a 27.2 but they also said it will be over £200 so not cheap but there again neither is the ks900. at least the reverb is going to be demod in the mag soon so see what happens. im looking to with running a 27.2 post.
