2 Pairs of the Specialized trainers from Rutland - one pair for me and one pair for the missus - be ideal for pottering about in, rather than having to use XC shoes (I ride SPD only - no flats).

That Ubyk deal has left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth!

Ive been saving for a Hightower for nigh on a year. (And I mean SAVING) I was pretty much there for a C S build. I tried my local dealer and a few online sources for a bit of discount but no go. The farthest folks would go was store credit of approx 10% of the bike price.

In despair, I bought another brand but turns out it doesn't fit and I am returning it.

However, along came Black Friday and suddenly retailers could cut nearly £800 ish off the Hightower. It's left me feeling a bit weird if I'm honest. Where has the margin for price movement suddenly appeared from? Don't like this grumpy old man feeling but there's no way I'm buying a Santa Cruz now!

The margin for that price movement hasn't appeared from anywhere. The margins on Santa Cruz are the same as for any other brand. With that deal, there really isn't much margin for the retailer at all.

Surprised no one's mentioned this, or maybe they have and I've missed it, but Maxxis have 50% off and BOGOF on a fair few items on their UK site. Just ordered a pair of Chronicles to try on the Krampus!

What has happened to CRC codes?
I used to see them at the top of homepage, now don’t!

Any ideas or codes out there?

They stopped doing them about three years ago. Now just £10 off £75 in "Clearance" items unless you are a BC member - then you can get 10% off over £100 one time per month.

Pays for itself very quickly IME.

Has the UBYK discount ended now? that's a lot of money off a full bike, especially when some margins are only 20%, would seriously tempt me to get a Nukeproof.

Other 'bargain' is 20% at Works Components, plus they seem to have dropped the price on headsets recently too by the looks of it.

Black Friday deals outside of the bike world seem to have been really weak.

Ubyk ended early Monday morning I think. They were offering 20% off the 2018 Pre Order Nukeproofs too.

RE Maxxis.... how do you get BOGOF? Or are those deals now gone?

The Maxxis deals seemed a bit thin on the ground to me. Mainly 26in and less fashionable tyres.

Shame, fancied a HR2 but can't stretch to £70.

Spank Spoon 26"/27.5" wheelsets from ~£137

https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=aa_sbox_sort?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aspank+wheelset&sort=price-asc-rank&keywords=spank+wheelset&tag=ho01f-21

Thanks n0b0dy0ftheg0at!
From that page I picked up a pair of 295 Oozy 27.5 for £170. That's a bargain considering I was about to drop on a pair of rims from CRC for £50 each!

*edit* there is one pair in black left
