Off to the far north for her dad’s birthday in January.
we had an idea of stopping on the way up and having a spin around laggan, looking for somewhere for two nights.
just me and her, private (rather than room in a house) or good hotel

We went to Laggan gaskmore Hotel a few times and loved it.

Never stayed there though as we either caravan or camp at kingussiecamping.com as it's cheap as chips.
Keep in mind there's a high chance it'll be smothered in snow in January (as it has been this week).
Another vote here for The Rumblie, lovely place to stay
Stayed at the rumblie way back in 2008 for a few days whilst exploring all the big day out rides in the area, fantastic place, very comfortable, excellent veg food and wine matched to each course, the desserts were so good I pigged out. Prob the only time I’ve been away on the bike covering more than 300miles in 3 days and came back home heavier.
Never got back unfortunately but I sent my folks there for a weekend break a couple of times and they absolutely loved it, mum still talks about it 6 years later.
Another vote for the Rumblie here too.
