some complete cock end, claiming to be a cyclist, has had a letter published in my local newspaper (leicester mercury) claiming that the worst people on the roads are cyclists with kids in cycleseats etc and that it should be a criminal offence to carry kids on the back of bikes without hi viz and helmet. The writer also intimates that were there to be an accident it would be the parents fault.

Anyone got any stats or poiinters to rospa or other road safety sites i can use in my reply to the paper as the author of the letter is clearly a ****.

Cheers

I must admit, some of the people I see weaving along with little kids on the back do make me a bit scared for the kids safety. Not all of them though obviously.

But the extra weight on the back does seem to cause some "issues" for the less experienced cyclists, and there seems to be a few round here.
