Thinking of Aberfoyle tomorrow. Never been - however have been to Callendar.....
Whats it like. Its for me and the wife. She'll be on a Cube eMTB, me on a Scale or a Spark. Weve looked at other riders rides we know and looked at routes and maybe downloading them.
But, given the amount of paths on Trailforks, and a quick search on here, we wont be doing real challenging stuff or pure technical (cos the wife)
is it well signed/signposted. The gravel/firetracks obvious and where your going? Or am i going to be on Google/Strava trying to figure out where i am every 5km?
Or will i be disappointed/lost/p*ssed off and shoulda went to Callendar instead on NCN7, or round the Fife Coastal Path from North Queensferry.

There's a huge amount of very nice forest roads/gravel.

Mosy of the MTB trails are steep and slippery, particularly after rain. Trailforks needed for nav, IME finding some of the trails takes a bit of care.
The gravel riding - you will need a map really, but it's easy navigation around the place. Komoot has a lot of very pleasant rides around Aberfoyle.
Loads of gravel fire roads and nice forest tracks but it can be a bit of a maze without a gps. a lot of the single track marked on trailforks is really, really steep so may not be appropriate?
Have you done the Glen Finglas route before? easy to navigate from Brig o' Turk (14 miles) or from Callander (30 miles) Glen Finglas Loop from Callander
The 3 glens route from Loachearnhead is also a great route that takes in a pretty part of the NCN7 3 Glens
Loch Katrine is níce, you can do an out and back or do a longer loop around Loch Chon and then over the Dukes Pass.
Not technical but a nice long mostly off-road route.

@rakas no not done that loop, not with the wife. 45km and 1000m of climbing. Shed be worried the battery would run out - we need to acually do a longevity test for it TBH. Id do that one myself tho.

Keep the suggestions coming 🙂 im looking at trailforks just now and Aberfoyle Gravel Grind. Says theres a tree down across it and impassable just now.
But as i though guys, probably good with a map, or a recce maybe myself without Mrs SSS.
I've just mapped out the Loch Katrine loop I suggested and Strava says it's 1000m of ascent also. 😬
That would be right. Nice ride though and none of the hills go on tooooo long...
