As the title suggests I've made an ar5e of taking a cleat bolt out and rounded it. How the **** am I gonna get it out now? Help! Please!

If the cleats are knackered, try and cut a groove in the head and turn it like a screw or drill the head off and use mole grips to extract the bolt stem.

Carefully drill it out, cleat bolts are (as you've just found out) pretty soft, so it's an easy job.

Thanks folks but you're both right....the only option now is to show it the drill....and todays fettling was going so well up until that point.

Find the torq bit that is a bit too big, bang it in with a hammer and then use an battery drill to spin it out, simples.

Oh yeah plus gas or WD40 it first

in a similar situation i used one of those reverse thread screw extractor drill bits. did the job (though i nearly broke my wrist in the process - be warned!).

If the cleat's useless I use an angle grinder to cut a screwdriver slot. And it sometimes adds ventilation and drainage channels to the shoe.

and remember to spray a load of wd40 on it beforehand next time ๐Ÿ™‚
