Met a German guy, Stefan, a few weeks ago in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria. He is a german on a mission to cycle from Munich to Bangkok. 17000km through 18 countries, estimated timescale is 1 year.
Spent an evening with him in the Nomad hostel there and he is a down to earth man with an eye for adventure and looking to see the world on a bicycle. Mostly just for the experience but he is also raising funds for charity, Window of life.
Currently he has covered 4200km, 9 countries and will soon leave Turkey to the east. He has a small blog with his experiences and opinions of the countries travelled through which I am following with interest.
All in all, a top effort. Check him out at http://www.cyclingeurasia.com/english/route/
His blog and most of the info is in German, but nothing that Google tranlate won't decipher.
Sounds a cracking trip and one I hope to start next year with a view to cycling round the world.
Will keep an eye on his blog.
Cheers
