Following some regular short SS trips with the kids on board over winter, I've gotten a bit strength back in my knee.. so a bimble was on the cards

After a steady climb up Green lane and along the granite railway I reached the roll-in to the Smallacombe descent.. this has become a bit of a bogey section for me now and I psyche myself out every time..

the rest of the descent was like a river after all the rains, the ground had stayed hard though and all the water was just mostly running off the top..

A trio of busy Dor beetles on the climb out of Dingly Dell..

The hound..

My destination: The white speck in the middle distance, I had to turn back here though for fear of running late..

The steep descent into Grimspound.. better riding down than hiking up..

Looking back towards Haytor..

Houndtor woods, Becka brook on the way home.. first big voyage for a few months - 4 hours, 20 hard won Dartmoor miles, 1km vertical ascent, pleasantly sore legs, happy bunny

Looks like a great ride. I didn't know you were from down that way.

I'm in Exmouth for a wedding in Sept. & looking at staying on Dartmoor for a week - is Haytor a decent spot to be based riding wise?

It looks pretty ๐Ÿ™‚
