I've just entered the Whinlatter Challenge and I'm in as a bloody veteran.

Who the hell made up the rule of anyone over 40 is classed as a veteran.
A bloody yougster I bet, I hope he's well over 40 now

John - it's great being a vet at 40 but you'll have to grow a stupid beard like the other 2 SS's on 29'ers at Mawdacch . They give all you SS'ers a bad impression IMHO as followers of non-fashion

I had one of these issued to me on leaving the RAF.

Made me feel old in an instant and I'm not yet of age to be a veteran in MTB races, though its not far off.

Vets! 40-49 the bloomin hardest ten years of racing ever, I blame Malcolm Elliot.
Hoping it all slows down again next year in the Grand Vets.

Grand Vets
- no tell me it isn't true - I'm 50 this year - being classed as a veteran is bad enough

I decided against racing Beastway as a Vet, so built a SS to race that class instead.

A few years ago when I started racing, Vets used to be over 35 if I recall correctly.

Actually it's Grande, which sounds all a bit crevats and smoking jackets.
