It's actually the furthest North I've been in the UK!!!

Rode Whinlatter and Lonscale Fell today, and planning the Borrowdale bash and Skiddaw loop tomorrow...
Anything else I should be doing?!
It's fair to say, having travelled from the 'lowest rainfall region in the UK' to the highest, it's not gone unnoticed!

Skiddaw is awesome but the best descent is the cheeky Ullock pike - best ride in the lakes but be careful if windy and take some skills with you

I'd say you need to have lunch at Chesters, followed by the purchase of an expensive slate ornament.

And then tea at the Masons Arms

Borrowdsle bash gets my vote - the descent after the first long road climb which drops back into borrowdale is a cracker. Start pedaling fast at the top and dont put your feet down anywhere for max enjoyment!

2nd Helvellyn down dollywaggon only if your up for it, it's very rewarding if you have the skills/commitment if not it's probably a long walk.
Not sure of the state of Garburn but there are good loops out of there
Some of the stuff biketreks can point you at out of Ambleside is great
Avoid the footpaths it's just not sporting on weekends
BW's round Grizedale the little white route books is good for those
Make it for a Tuesday night out of Keswick

So today we foolishly climbed Ullock Pike with our bikes, just so we could blat down from the summit of Skiddaw, to the bottom.... Cue lots of funny looks from all the walkers who passed us/we passed...

Then after lunch we did the Borrowdale Bash - absolutely cracking route. I love the technical rocky descents, and could ride them all day long!

DrP - you went the wrong way round (for descent near perfection). Also looks like you missed the summit, if that's your route log........

Team hurt more - yes, it's Blencathra in the pic distance.

I see...
It was taken just below Cat bells, NE direction, so Blencathra seems likely..

Yeah, maybe...but it was the morning..on a Saturday...and it's a footpath TBH... And we did miss the summit buy a bit, but we weren't aiming for that.. Just keen to get back down for lunch!

If looking for a ride tomorrow in the rain, the trails around Rydal/Elterwater are great fun.
