For a slow old man!

Nothing remotely flash but I can chuck it down the road without a worry 8)

5800 shifters/mechs and and 5700 cranks. 52/36 & 12x25, 5800 is a massive step up from 5700. Really looking forward to getting a proper ride in!

Erm not sure yet (North West area though), waiting for it to get a bit warmer as my legs hate the cold!! Couple of MTB races first I reckon.

Arghhhh Tom yer killing me, I really don't. Thought I'd got everything perfect!

ofsetting the valve weight with the tyre logo weight

Be bloody murder to find the valve for the mechanic though ๐Ÿ˜‰

That and you aren't in the biggest gear. It's almost as if you haven't tried....

Crank 45 degrees forward and downwards.

It's like you people don't even pay attention.

[Not my wall/gravel...]

Is that on a roof somewhere in Wiltshire by any chance? It looks awfully familiar!

*Edit*

(North West area though)

Ah, probably not!

mtbel - bearingless

I think they were designed to run with 2 bearings perma****ed in a shift pattern so it might just be alright!

Cheers all!

Looks great.

Is that quite a short stem?*

*this is not a criticism, just curious.

Probably by the standards of most roadies I'd imagine (?), 100mm, just what came with the old girl.

ha ha... 100mm on my TCR too. ๐Ÿ™„
it's just what I..er... spent ages measuring, re-measuring, eventually working out I needed 105mm then mulling over committing to going 5mm shorter or longer before fitting. ๐Ÿ˜‰
I also prefer the sharper handling a 100mm stem gives over the 120mm mine came with, plus it wheelies betterer.

It's an old aluminium TCR (possibly before they brought out the alu TCR SL?), originally had 5700 105, Giant branded wheels and the most God awful Giant saddle on it I've ever come across!

They weren't available in the UK officially (Dutch model IIRC, which fits as there's a "made in Holland" sticker on it) but they must have struggled to sell 'em all so they got punted to UK dealers as the story went when I bought it. Lovely frame to look at with the smooth welds and in the unofficial bike in each hand test as light as the lower end CARBONZ frame with the same gear on it which my workmate wasn't pleased about.

A real shame they don't bring aluminium TCR's into the UK.

Alu TCRs do come up S/H on Ebay and they are available as frame sets there new from Hong Kong. dunno if legit. the TCR Carbonz prices from HK seem too good to be true.
