Good to see something positive in the "mainstream" press.

The agency points out that cyclists are high spenders because they often carry few provisions, with figures showing they benefit the Scottish economy by at least ยฃ200 million a year.

Given that NC used to be probably the least-visited 7 Stane, I wonder if the boost has come from the development of the Northumberland (Riever?) trails and the new link to NC.

I like Newcastleton, but not been in years...

Never been to Newcastleton (nor Glentrool). Might give it a go this year now it is linked into Kielder.

I do wonder how "real" the figures for cyclotourisme are, and how much they are optimistic estimates of redistribution of wealth. I know if I didn't spend as much on biking I'd probably spend more on other stuff, and I doubt I am alone in this.

Was there this weekend visiting some friends who were up doing some work on the forth coming 24 hours of exposure route. Did a link to kielder based on the k100 route so not sureif it used all the link, it seemed to. Was pretty good and makes a big ride with lots of climbing. Shame I'm so unfit that it took me for ever and my legs fell off.

Not my usual kind of riding but I enjoyed it enough.
