On hols in Devon. Brought the Boardman CX. 30k road ride in the minging rain on Saturday was better than not riding, but not terribly exciting. Bought a map, went exploring in the local woods, got very lost, very muddy, very wet (natch), ended up getting back on the road and giving myself a light shovel (that's the middle aged version of buying oneself ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) to Tiverton including the joy of the 'longdrag hill'. Went to pub. Got rained on again on the way home.

Be lovely in the dry this.

Ace ride. Love CX bikes, going to Haldon Forest on Weds with my 11 year old Daughter to have a crack at the blue. Got to say wish they'd let CX bikes run at Mayhem, so much easier in the mud!

The great thing about it was I just went exploring for an hour and a half with a few promising looking *ahem* holiday bridleways recorded in the GPS, and then picked one of the few North Devon roads that doesn't a) plunge vertically downhill into a ford then back up the other side and b) have narrow tarmac with chunks missing hidden under high hedges.

Had a lovely ride to Tiverton. About 10 miles on a good road, not busy, sun came out, slight tailwind all good. Until LongDrag hill. Half way down there I was thinking 'oh lordy, this is going to hurt coming back'. Reckon that's an absolute nailed on KOM segment on Strava. I'll not be troubling it ๐Ÿ˜‰
