[#6676175]

This has probably been asked before, but will a 10spd clutch mech (such as SLX m675) work with a 1x9 drivetrain? Will be using a 9spd SLX shifter, and an 11-34t cassette.

Planning on buying a N/W ring and ditching my guide, but assuming that I'll be constantly losing my chain unless I upgrade the mech.

Ran 1x9 for a good while with a n/w chainring,no guide, droped chain only once, rattling down Cutgate.just slightly less noisy with a clutch mech.

You will need to buy a SRAM 9 speed shifter combined with a Shimano mech and use a 5mm spacer under the cable pick up (& a longer bolt). There's loads of threads on it. Do a search.

It's the chainring that does the heavy lifting rather than the mech... Better to have both mind

(more like 6mm spacer btw if you want to SRAM it... I should have a couple of these machined up somewhere but I may have lost them)

A 6mm spacer is working on my Sramano set up, I cut up a brake mount adapter to make it.
